Peru names new Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister

The Executive Branch on Thursday appointed Jaime Antonio Pomareda Montenegro as the new Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Peru.

A supreme resolution published in El Peruano official gazette made his appointment official.

Likewise, the designation is pursuant to the provisions of the Diplomatic Service Law and the Organization and Functions Law of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The document bears the signatures of President Martin Vizcarra and Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio


About Pomareda

The new deputy minister has served as Peruvian Consul General to Hong Kong and Ambassador to South Korea, among other posts.

In addition, he was awarded the Gwanghwa Medal —the Order of Diplomatic Service Merit— by the aforementioned Asian nation in May 2018.
