Peru names new Ambassador to U.S.

The Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry has recently appointed Hugo de Zela Martinez as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the United States of America.

The appointment was made official by a Supreme Resolution published in El Peruano official gazette.

De Zela will replace Carlos Pareja who retired on January 1, 2019. 

Corresponding credentials and full powers have been granted to the diplomat as provided by said document.

Likewise, a ministerial resolution will set the date in which the Peruvian official will assume his duties. 

It should be noted De Zela has served as the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister

The Supreme Resolution was signed by President Martin Vizcarra and Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio.
