Peru moves forward at World Schools Debating Championships

Peru made it into the quarter-finals of the World School Debating Championship (WSDC) currently underway in Indonesia.

This year's edition is running thru August 11th in Bali.

The squad is composed of five students: Valeria Wu, Lorenzo Pinasco, Leonardo Jiménez Bernaola, Lorenzo de la Puente and Rafael Shimabukuro.

Next, it will face the United States after having ousted Malaysia.

It must be noted Peru comes from winning the 4th Asia World Schools Debate Championship, where the Inca team gave a remarkable performance to reach the aforementioned level.

The event

This tournament is an annual debate competition for high-school students. Debates take place in English.

To be part of this championship, minors have to meet certain eligibility criteria and be familiar with several international affairs.
