Peru: President leads ceremony marking Battle of Arica's 146th anniversary

The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, led a ceremony Friday morning, marking the 146th anniversary of the Battle of Arica at the Army Headquarters in Lima's San Borja district.

Senior government officials and Armed Forces members attended the event as well.

June 7 will mark another anniversary of the Battle of Arica, a significant date that also commemorates Flag Day.
