Peru: Mandatory social immobilization set from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.

09:39 | Lima, Apr. 10.

Mandatory social immobilization (curfew) in Peru will run from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. during the two-week extension of the state of national emergency.

On the other hand, social immobilization will last from 4:00 p.m. to 4 a.m. in Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, and Loreto —regions located in northern Peru.

The measure was stipulated by Supreme Decree No. 064-2020-PCM, published Friday in El Peruano official gazette.

The decree bears the signatures of Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra, Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos, and State ministers.

Additionally, the document makes the state of emergency extension —approved until April 26— official. Said measure was announced on Tuesday by the Head of State.

The decree reiterates that the use of face masks is mandatory when outside during said period.
