Peru's national soccer team on Tuesday afternoon defeated its Bolivian counterpart on its second match at the Copa America Brasil 2019 tournament.

The Incas showed an outstanding performance during the second half of the game.

1st half

In the 28th minute, Marcelo Martins made a goal for the Bolivian squad via penalty shot.

However —minutes later— Peru's top striker Paolo Guerrero received the ball, which he slid into the net, thus scoring the first official goal for the Incas in the current tournament (45th).

Therefore, the first half ended with a partial draw.

2nd half

Peru entered the field feeling more confident for the beginning of the second half.

In the 55th minute, Guerrero served a pass to his teammate Jefferson Farfan, which he headed into the net, thus making the second goal for the Peruvians.

During injury time (95th minute), Edison Flores received an amazing pass, which he turned into a "classy" shot to beat Bolivia's goalkeeper Carlos Lampe and consolidate the triumph for the Peruvians.

The game was held at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium.

Peru will next face Brazil on June 22 at Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians.
