The Government published the Supreme Decree No. 094-2020-PCM last weekend, which made official the extension of the state of national emergency to face the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic thru June 30.

Said regulation included an annex detailing the economic activities that would be allowed starting May 25.

1. Acquisition, production, and supply of food. That includes the corresponding storage and distribution for sale.

2. Acquisition, production, and supply of pharmaceutical and essential goods.

3. Attendance to health centers and establishments, as well as to diagnostic centers.

4. Professional or business provision to guarantee the services referred to in this annex.

5. Assistance and care for elders, girls, boys, teenagers, dependants, people with disabilities, and people in vulnerable situations.

6. Financial entities, insurance, and pensions, as well as complementary and related services that guarantee their proper functioning.

7. Production, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale of fuel.

8. Accommodation establishments, with the purpose of complying with the established quarantine or for the accommodation of the personnel that provide essential services and goods.

9. Media and call centers, the latter only for services related to the emergency.

Additionally, Peruvians can use mobile applications to order food delivery from restaurants as well as request services from computer technicians, plumbers, electricians, gardeners, and maintenance experts.

The Cabinet member explained that people are able to buy clothing, footwear, appliances, and school supplies, among others, via e-commerce.
