09:39 | Lima, Apr. 1.

The Permanent Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court —chaired by Judge Cesar San Martin— ratified the 36-month pre-trial detention previously issued against former President Pedro Castillo, who is investigated over the alleged felony of (leading a) criminal organization and others.

There was already a precautionary measure of restricted appearance on Geiner Alvarado, which will be upgraded to pre-trial detention issued by the Judge San Martin's chamber.

For this investigation, the Prosecutor's Office had also requested pre-trial detention for former Ministers Juan Silva (Transportation) and Geiner Alvarado (Housing).

They are investigated for the alleged commission of various offenses, including criminal organization, influence peddling, and collusion to the detriment of the Peruvian State.
