Peruvian Supreme Court approved an active extradition petition from the Preparatory Investigation Court for former Supreme Judge Cesar Hinostroza.
According to a statement via Twitter, the court also ordered the referral of the entire proceedings to the Justice Ministry through the Supreme Court's Presidency.
Hinostroza is accused of leading a criminal group —composed of magistrates, lawyers, and entrepreneurs— that operated in the justice system.
The Preparatory Investigation Court
ordered a 36-month pretrial detention for the dismissed judge, who has been accused of allegedly being involved in organized crime, committing the crimes of illegal sponsorship, influence peddling, and incompatible negotiation.
