Israeli Ambassador to Peru Asaf Ichilevich on Wednesday said that his country will extend its cooperation to strengthen Peru's agriculture sector.
Regarding Peru-Israel relations, Ichilevich noted they have significant potential. "(...) most expectations are in the economic and innovation fields."
Likewise, special focus will also be on
tourism, education, and agriculture.
As for water shortage in desert areas —a shared concern— the two countries will join forces to work on a drip irrigation system, clean contaminated water, and promote desalinization.
On the other hand, Peruvian agriculture will receive technological support as many Israeli companies are interested in working together with Peru in order to enhance the sector, which has evolved over the past years.
As per education, Israel offers a lot of interesting technology education programs, and this opens possibilities for both nations to work together.
Ichilevich explained that the enormous distance between the two countries translates into little knowledge about companies on the opposite side.
"One of the major topics on my agenda is to strengthen these connections so that more Israeli companies can reach Peru seeking investment opportunities," he added.
