The Ministry of the Interior announced that, through the Superintendency of Migration (Migraciones), and in coordination with the Peruvian National Police (PNP), new immigration measures will be implemented effective immediately due to the events in Venezuela.
These new measures will apply to Venezuelan nationals with ties to the Nicolás Maduro regime.
Through its account on the social media platform X, the Ministry of the Interior stated that, in this regard, "measures will be adopted to restrict entry into the country, in accordance with the free exercise of our sovereignty in the interest of internal order and national security, with respect to those individuals who have been sanctioned, in order to prevent them from using Peru to evade justice."
This border measure was adopted following the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his extradition to the United States.
