The event was organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), in partnership with the Andean Community (CAN) and the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
The diplomat indicated that Latin America and the Caribbean are going through a key moment to rethink their development strategies with a more inclusive and sustainable approach.
In that regard, he emphasized that such academic forums allow for strengthening trade relations, attracting new investments, and diversifying the region's economies.
Likewise, Rubio emphasized that China is one of the main economic partners of both Peru and Latin America, and that the forum contributes to consolidating regulatory frameworks that facilitate trade, promote technological exchange, and foster balanced and mutually beneficial development.
Lastly, the Director General reaffirmed that Peru has historically been a strong advocate of regional integration, convinced that dialogue, cooperation, and mutual learning are key tools for achieving people-centered sustainable development.
