Peru FA Min, U.S. State Secretary meet in Colombia

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Gustavo Meza-Cuadra on Monday met with United States Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo in the Colombian capital of Bogota.

During the gathering, the two government officials discussed bilateral and regional issues.

The meeting took place within the framework of the Third Hemispheric Ministerial Conference on the Fight against Terrorism.

This conference aims to address measures to counter threats of international terrorism and its links with transnational organized crime.

Moreover, it is used as an opportunity to continue the Hemisphere's efforts to combat terrorism and its financing. 

Held as follow-up to conferences held in Washington D.C. (2018) and Buenos Aires (2019), the event saw the participation of the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, United States, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Saint Lucia.

Israel, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE), INTERPOL, and AMERIPOL attended as observers.
