Gustavo Meza-Cuadra becomes new Foreign Affairs Minister of Peru

Gustavo Meza-Cuadra was on Thursday afternoon sworn in as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru.

The career diplomat will thus replace Nestor Popolizio in the post.

Sworn in on April 2, 2018 the outgoing minister was part of the Cabinet led by Salvador del Solar.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace's Golden Hall in Lima.

These newly sworn-in top officials make up the Cabinet led by Vicente Zeballos, who on Monday took the oath of office as Prime Minister of Peru.  

The event saw the presence of the outgoing ministerial team, including former Cabinet chief Salvador del Solar, who presided over the Council of Ministers from March this year until his resignation on Monday.
