Peru FA Min to attend Mexico presidential inauguration ceremony

Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio will head to Mexico to attend the inauguration of President-Elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place on December 1. 

According to the Supreme Resolution —published in El Peruano official gazette— the official visit is a sign of the importance given to the bilateral relations which are aimed at reinforcing cooperation. 

Likewise, it will strengthen the friendship ties uniting the two countries, as well as reaffirm their shared vision through integration initiatives such as the Pacific Alliance.

During Minister Popolizio's absence, Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva will take over the Foreign Affairs portfolio.

The document was signed by President Martin Vizcarra, Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva, and Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio.

As is known, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador will succeed Enrique Peña Nieto as President of Mexico for the 2018-2024 period.
