Peru: Executive Branch receives 500,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits from SNMPE

18:04 | Lima, May. 26.

Health Minister Victor Zamora and Deputy Minister of Territorial Governance Raul Molina on Tuesday received 500,000 rapid test kits donated by the privately-run National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE) in order to contribute to the fight against COVID-19.

"These tests will support the health system's efforts in regions with the greatest need, especially in places where the system had limited reach," the deputy minister stated.

The aid, handed over by SNMPE President Manuel Fumagalli at the facilities of the National Center for Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares), will enhance the efforts of the State to combat COVID-19.

The donation will be made in two parts. The first batch of 350,000 kits that will be distributed by the Ministry of Health, and the second batch of 150,000 that will arrive in the coming days.

"We are going to overcome the pandemic together: private companies, citizens, and institutions. This battle involves the commitment of all, and this donation is a good example of that," Molina concluded.
