18:26 | Lima, Sep. 5.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday presented the High-Level Group in charge of shaping the proposal linked to Mining Vision thru 2030.

Said group will submit a roadmap aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive mining activities in order to generate economic development for the benefit of stakeholders.

On this occasion, the Head of State was joined by Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva, as well as Ministers Francisco Ismodes (Energy and Mines) and Fabiola Muñoz (Environment).

The High-Level Group will be comprised of State representatives, as well as those from the civil society, private sector, and academy.

This body will seek to reach consensus on the vision proposal, which will lead to strategic pillars and priorities for action in the mining sector and its particular approach on the Inca country's development.

During the first work session of Rimay Convergence and Good Energy-Mining Practices Center meeting, President Vizcarra expressed his administration's full support to this initiative submitted by the Energy and Mines Ministry (MEM).

Said plan is aimed at accomplishing a long-term vision that will turn into development of mining regions.

"Value must be placed on Peru's mining potential. This way, its wealth will lead to generating well-being among the population,” the statesman indicated.
