Peru: Executive Branch approves extradition of Wanda del Valle and Alvin Vargas

The Council of Ministers on Monday approved the active extradition of Wanda del Valle Bermudez Viera —ex-partner of gunned-down criminal Christopher Fuentes Gonzales, also known as "Maldito Cris" (Damned Cris)— and Alvin Daniel Vargas Garcia, who are involved in different crimes.

The purpose of the extradition is to bring them to Peruvian justice for the episodes of violence in which they were involved.

A member of the criminal organization El Tren de Aragua (The Aragua Train), Venezuelan citizen Wanda del Valle, who will be extradited from Colombia, is accused of allegedly committing the crime of conspiracy and offering money for the crime of contract killing to the detriment of Revoredo Farfan.

Meanwhile, Alvin Vargas will be extradited from Venezuela for the alleged crime of manufacturing, trading, using or transporting weapons. 

The defendant may be related to the cases for which gunned-down criminal Christopher Fuentes Gonzales, also known as "Maldito Cris" (Damned Cris) was being investigated.

Reliable and attractive destination

On the other hand, the Ministerial Cabinet received the report "Peru, a reliable and attractive country for the world." 

This document reveals that the Peru Brand took first place in the region among the world's top 32, according to the RepCore Nation ranking.

In this regard, 69 activities were carried out as part of export trade promotion activities, which generated business expectations worth US$1.264 billion.

In addition, 15 investment promotion events were held, which totaled more than S/7 million (about US$1.87 million) and resulted in a return of US$100 million. That is, for every US$1 invested, US$93 were received in return.

In terms of tourism promotion, 13 national fairs and business conferences, as well as 40 international fairs and workshops were held, in which more than US$4 million were invested, obtaining a total of more than US$73 million.
