Peru: Cusco among world's top 25 destinations in 2019

Peru's Southern-Andean city of Cusco ranks 23rd in the Top 25 Destinations-World, according to 2019 TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice.

It should be noted Cusco is the only South American location featured on the list.

"Incan majesty and Andean baroque exist side-by-side in Cusco's stone streets, epitomized by the Qoricancha Palace and the Church of Santo Domingo flanking the Plaza de Armas (Main Square)," the world's largest travel site expressed.

"In this high-altitude melting pot of Amerindian and mestizo culture, you'll find extraordinary textiles, lively summer festivals and archeological wonders," it underlined.

Furthermore, Cusco City leads the ranking of Top 25 Destinations in South America, followed by Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cartagena (Colombia), and Gramado (Brazil), among others.

Meanwhile, Lima holds the 6th position, followed by Urubamba (18th), Arequipa (23rd), and Machu Picchu (25th).

In July 2018, the Machu Picchu Day Trip from Cusco ranked third in the Top 10 Experiences in South America of the 2018 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards for Experiences.
