The event will be held within the framework of the Vaccinathon, which starts this Saturday at 07:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at 22 vaccination centers that have been set up in Lima and Callao.
This
36-hour-long Vaccinathon intends to accelerate the process of immunization against COVID-19 among citizens aged 45 to 49 and complete administering the necessary doses for those aged above 50 who —for some reason— have not yet received the jab.
During this second
Vaccinathon, the COVID-19 vaccine will also be administered to senior citizens, pregnant women, people with comorbidities, as well as those with rare and orphan diseases.
The Cabinet member recently reported that —until July 2021— Peru relies on 19.6 million doses, which will contribute to completing the immunization of the population aged 40-49, and continue with the following age groups.
Vaccination schedule
Regarding the immunization process, the minister reminded citizens that the vaccination of people between 40 and 49 years of age should continue this month thru September, followed by those aged between 30 and 39 (August-October), 20 to 29 (September-November), and 12 to 19 (October-December).
