Peru, Chile experience best moments of bilateral relations

President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed Peru and Chile currently experience one of the best moments in bilateral relations.

"We have a broad and diverse agenda. In the last few years, we have made significant progress towards greater integration and cooperation," the Head of State told Chile's El Mercurio newspaper.

The top official went on to add both countries are members of the Pacific Alliance and share a vision of the future based on democracy, respect for human rights, international law, as well as multilateralism

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra and Chilean counterpart Sebastian Piñera head the 2nd Peru-Chile Binational Cabinet in Santiago with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties through concrete actions.

The statesman indicated significant commitments have been accomplished concerning border development, social matters, security, trade, environment, and culture.  

"We attach particular importance to integration and border areas development. For that reason, we work on a series of initiatives aimed at generating high impact on Tacna's and Arica's population," the top official concluded.
