Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio commented on the repressive situation facing Nicaragua and urged an end to violence in the Central American country.
Peru's stance
"We request it (the Nicaraguan Government) to conduct the proper investigation so as to punish the perpetrators of such acts and to help the Inter-American system resolve the crisis that the country is going through," the official stated.
The Inca nation is part of the working group created by
OAS to contribute to the search for peaceful and viable solutions
to the situation in Nicaragua by restoring political dialogue without ruling out early elections as an alternative solution.
