Over 3 million people given two doses of COVID-19 vaccine in Peru

A total of 3,005,324 people in Peru have been given the two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The beneficiaries included the elderly, front-line workers, people with comorbidities, and those aged 50 and over.

This was reported by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on the "Pongo el Hombro" (I Lend a Shoulder) platform, which indicates that so far 7,347,713 vaccine doses have been administered, of which 4,342,389 were for the first dose.

Vaccination in Lima and Callao

The COVID-19 vaccination of people aged 54-55 residing in Metropolitan Lima and Callao began today, June 30.

Details on the date, place, and time of their vaccination are available on the Pongo el Hombro" (I Lend a Shoulder) platform.

Moreover, the inoculation of people aged 52-53 is expected to take place between July 3 and 6, while those aged 50-51 will be able to get vaccinated between July 5 and 7.

It should be noted that the immunization of people aged 56-57 started on Monday, June 28.

According to Health Minister Oscar Ugarte, the increase in the number of people eligible for COVID-19 vaccination is possible thanks to the arrival of additional vaccines in the country, mainly due to the donation of 2 million doses by the United States.
