, recommended a political truce in Peru as long as dialogue among State powers, political parties, and society civil members is established and convened.
Similarly, the envoy asked that respect be preserved for all the people who reside in Peru, since they have rights and liberties proclaimed by the
Political Constitution.
Likewise, he suggested that the role of the press have a collective, impartial sense and respect for all stakeholders.
"The lack of objectivity does not constitute a justification to incite discourse that could endanger such fundamental rights for democracy," he pointed out.
The
High-Level Group —which visited Peru a few days ago— stressed that beyond the differences, the fundamental consensus found in Peru is the widespread conviction that preserving democracy, the Constitution, and laws is the path towards overcoming the crisis.
The recommendations focused on five key points that must be worked on jointly: channeling dialogue, political truce, constitutional justice, racism and discrimination, the right to freedom of expression, and the media.
