Energy and Mines Minister Juan Carlos Liu said on Thursday that 6 million
Peruvians will benefit from natural gas service for residential use by 2021.
"4 million Peruvians already have natural gas service throughout the country. Our commitment for 2021 is to provide cheap natural gas to 6 million citizens," he stated.
Thanks to
natural gas, Robles will save up to 60% in fuel at a restaurant he owns.
It must be noted that over 3.6 million Peruvian nationals benefit from this service in Lima and Callao.
Households in said areas save US$36 million a year with natural gas, according to figures provided by the
National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), which uses the average of inhabitants per household as a reference and multiplies it by the number of customers connected to the natural gas network.
