Seats for the
Lima 2019 athletics, swimming, and basketball competitions are filling fast due to significant demand for tickets, General Manager of the Pan American and Parapan American Games Alberto Valenzuela said on Tuesday.
Currently, about 5,000
tickets are booked per day, of which 60% (3,000 tickets) are purchased online.
"More than 100,000 tickets have been sold so far, and many of them were for sports like athletics, swimming, and basketball, with tickets for basketball almost sold out," he said.
Interest in the aforementioned sports arises because the most important athletes in the continent will participate at
Lima 2019.
"Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists of Rio 2016 will come to Lima 2019. They will be joined by strong athletes seeking to qualify for
Tokyo 2020 (…) it will be a high-level competition," he pointed out.
According to Valenzuela, the event is raising high expectations among Peruvian fans.
"This has much to do with people's return to stadiums. They have forgotten what going to the stadium with their family is and want to relive those memories again," he expressed.
In addition, another factor that determines the increased demand for tickets is the fact that Lima 2019 is being well organized.
