President of Lima 2019 Carlos Neuhaus Tudela noted the
whole world is eager to see what happens on July 26 at the National Stadium during the opening ceremony of the much-anticipated Pan American and Parapan American Games.
According to Neuhaus, the organizers have achieved another major milestone in the countdown towards the
Lima 2019 Pan American Games, and he is convinced they are on the right track.
"With the same optimism that athletes possess and the warrior spirit that forges champions, we accept the challenge of following through on a commitment that will make the country proud," he remarked.
"I've walked through the different venues over and over, from when they were nothing more than mounds of dirt or a clearing until I saw them transform into modern buildings," the
Lima 2019's top authority commented.
"So, how can I not feel excited upon imagining those venues packed with fans, with university students and schoolchildren alike, cheering on the best athletes and
para-athletes in the continent and —in many cases— in the world," he asked himself.
Some, like the softball field —to name one example— have already been incorporated into the National Federation and see the national teams training there.
"We'll deliver the remaining projects very soon. In preparing, we continue to run tests, polish details, and search for ways to deliver the best Games possible," Neuhaus concluded.
