Peru added a new award into its medal table at Lima 2019 Pan American Games on Tuesday, as Leodan Pezo won bronze in boxing.

The Peruvian was defeated by Cuba's Lazaro Alvarez.

Our boxer faced the Cuban in the lightweight category (60kg) semifinals at Miguel Grau Coliseum in Callao. Unfortunately, he ended up falling in the third round.

Despite this, Pezo was able to grab bronze in the competition, allowing Peru to collect 10 medals so far in Lima 2019.

In the ranking, Peru holds the eighth place with gold (4), silver (2) and bronze (4) medals.
