Lima 2019: Athletes, international press praise Pan American Village

The Lima 2019 Pan American Village —located in peripheral Villa El Salvador district— has received the praise of international press members and the athletes who are staying there.

Important media outlets such as Fox Sports and Colombia's Win Noticias praised the infrastructure, amenities, and corresponding logistics.

"It is an impressive complex. Athletes can rely on any kind of service," Fox Sports underlined. 

Meanwhile, Win Noticias highlighted the building's dining hall. 

"Everything is well accommodated. There are all the services (we need). The Village is great," Colombian athlete Nataly Rodriguez expressed. 

"The food is very good. They have everything here," Puerto Rican sportsman Gilberto Clavell said. 

The complex is composed of seven towers, containing 1,096 apartments, each of them is between 70 and 75 square meters. The village can accommodate 6,800 people.

About Lima 2019

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games gather 6,680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations of the Americas. The continental event opened last week at the National Stadium located in the Peruvian capital. It will run thru August 11.

Some of the main venues are VIDENA, Villa Maria del Triunfo Sports Center, Callao Regional Sports Village, Villa El Salvador Sports Center, Punta Rocas, among others.

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The Parapan American Games will gather 1,890 Para athletes from 33 countries, who will participate in 17 Para sports and 18 disciplines. 

Competitions will take place from August 23 to September 1, 2019. Additionally, 13 sports will be qualifiers for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
