Peru's Health Minister Victor Zamora affirmed that his sector has enhanced the use of laboratory tests and mapping across the country.
According to Zamora, this information will help governors, mayors, national authorities, and citizens themselves to take decisions in order to identify the areas with the highest risk of infection.
On the other hand, the minister noted that "discrimination in access to health services, especially when it comes to exercising our right to a quality service, is not a Health Ministry (Minsa) or Government policy."
"The Government is making great efforts to increase the amount of
personal protective equipment. We acquired 5 million units 60 days ago, and we currently have around 41 million, which are being permanently distributed," he said.
On the other hand, the Cabinet member reported that San Martin region has made a substantial progress in terms of hospital infrastructure.
"We have bought and distributed 800,000 personal protective equipment units. The ICUs have 15 units, 9 of which are still available. We are mobilizing resources of other regions," he expressed.
