Fin Min: Peru's recovery is highest one in LatAm
10:33
| Lima, Jul. 3.
Economy and Finance Minister Waldo Mendoza
affirmed that
Peruvian economy has already recovered what had been lost last year due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic —being the highest recovery in the region.
"At the end of 2021, we will have grown over 10% and once again become one of the countries which will lead economic growth in the region," the high-ranking official projected.
"Peru is a small economy and open to international trade; therefore, what happens around the world matters a lot to us," he added.
In this sense,
the Cabinet member pointed out that the Inca nation's products will be highly demanded around the world.
Concerning public investment, Mendoza stated that its dynamics is already unstoppable.
"Regional and municipal governments already rely on the budgets, as well as the experience, and they have the support of MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance). Therefore,
public investment
this year should expand above 20%," he stated.
Likewise, the official mentioned that
credit support will remain in force, as Reactiva Peru and FAE have been rescheduled.
Besides, new programs have been created.
COVID-19 vaccination
Furthermore, the minister reported that the
vaccination rate stands at 250,000 doses a day.
