10:33 | Lima, Jul. 3.

Economy and Finance Minister Waldo Mendoza affirmed that Peruvian economy has already recovered what had been lost last year due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic —being the highest recovery in the region.

"Peru is a small economy and open to international trade; therefore, what happens around the world matters a lot to us," he added.

"Regional and municipal governments already rely on the budgets, as well as the experience, and they have the support of MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance). Therefore, public investment this year should expand above 20%," he stated.

Likewise, the official mentioned that credit support will remain in force, as Reactiva Peru and FAE have been rescheduled. Besides, new programs have been created.

COVID-19 vaccination

Furthermore, the minister reported that the vaccination rate stands at 250,000 doses a day.
