FIFA has fined the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) 30,000 Swiss francs (about US$30,685) and has limited the number of spectators for the upcoming match to be played by the Incas, after fans engaged in discriminatory behavior during a 2022 World Cup qualifier match against Paraguay.

FIFA stated that the home team's fans engaged in discriminatory behavior and, therefore, the red-white squad was fined.

Likewise, FIFA has told Peru to cut capacity in one of the matches to be played by the national squad, although its rival and the game in which this sanction could be applied are not known yet.

On the other hand, FIFA issued a warning to the Peruvian soccer team over the delay in the start of the match against Uruguay in Montevideo.

Another country that was fined for "discriminatory behavior" was Colombia, following the game in which it lost to Peru in Barranquilla.
