on Friday highlighted that the Pact for Peru —promoted by President Dina Boluarte— aims primarily to leave the nation in a state of growth and harmony, while avoiding social unrest and the electoral use of the deficiencies that still persist in the country.
When asked at Congress about the scope of this proposal, Schialer explained:
"The Pact for Peru is indeed an initiative of the madam President, whose central objective is to leave the country in growth and harmony, to prevent social unrest, and to avoid using the deficiencies that our country still has for electoral purposes."
The government official emphasized that this is a proposal being promoted by the Head of State discreetly, with the aim of consolidating a scenario of stability for the future.
Likewise, the diplomat indicated that Peru is a developing country, made up of women and men striving in various fields.
Congress
Following his participation at Congress' Foreign Affairs Commission, Minister Schialer also addressed other current issues.
On the resignations of ministers for electoral purposes, he stated that the President has been clear in saying that those with political aspirations may run for office if they meet the legal requirements.
Concerning the case of Erick Moreno Hernandez, alias "Monstruo" (The Monster), Minister Schialer reported that Paraguay has shown full willingness to cooperate with his extradition to Peru, although he warned that the process must follow a legally sound procedure.
Lastly, on the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, he specified that Peru "will neither withdraw nor stay, but is assessing its permanence."
