APEC Peru 2024: Invitations will be sent to leaders in May, June

Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea announced that formal invitations to leaders of the other 20 economies that make up the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum will be sent from May to June, so that they can attend the Leaders' Summit set to take place in Lima in November.

In remarks to local media, the Cabinet member reaffirmed that Peru ensures security and logistics for hosting the forum during 2024.


The government official indicated that APEC benefits our country, since the enormous investment opportunities available in Peru are presented, ensuring absolutely serious fiscal and macroeconomic management.

Gonzalez-Olaechea indicated that Peru sees the Asia-Pacific region as an area to grow around the world and be able to export our goods.

In this regard, he underlined the upcoming launch of the Chancay Megaport as an element that will influence our country's commercial development.

The minister also indicated that Peru has a strategic partnership with China and with the United States, while offering investment opportunities to other countries worldwide.
