Exports among Andean Community (CAN) members —Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru— totaled US$5.959 billion between January and August 2018, thus increasing 25.7% over the same period last year.
According to CAN General Secretariat's Statistics Unit,
intra-community exports from the following countries rose: Ecuador (38.9%), Bolivia (32.3%), Colombia (23%), and Peru (13.7%).
It must be noted CAN's most demanded products included crude petroleum oil; soybean cakes and solid residues; animal feed; soybean oil and its fractions, crude, whether or not degummed; crude palm oil; and refined copper wires, among others.
Likewise, between January and August of this year,
shipments from CAN members to the rest of the world reached US$79.646 billion, a 17.3% expansion compared to the similar term in 2017.
