Alejandro Sanchez Sanchezowner of the Sarratea Street Home and under investigation along with ex-President Pedro Castillo in the Shadow Cabinet case— arrived in Peru on Thursday afternoon expelled from the United States.

Upon arrival at Air Group No. 8 in Callao, the Cajamarca-born entrepreneur was taken off a plane by Peruvian National Police (PNP) agents, according to images released by the Public Ministry-Prosecutor's Office.

"Prosecutor Naomi Bustillos, of the Special Team of Prosecutors against Corruption of Power (Eficcop), is on site to ensure that the corresponding protocols are complied with," the institution indicated via social media.

His arrival took place at 2:10 p.m. (local time) after being carried on a charter flight, along with 150 deportees, from the United States of America.

He was wearing blue jeans and a police vest labeled "detainee."

Sanchez Sanchez had been a fugitive from Peruvian justice since October 2022, after the Judiciary ordered his preliminary detention for a 30-month period, within the framework of investigations over the charges of criminal organization.

He was detained in the United States by immigration police when he attempted to cross the border irregularly and enter the country illegally.

The U.S. Government rejected his request for asylum and ordered his expulsion, once all procedures submitted by his defense had been exhausted.

Legal Medicine

After setting foot on Peruvian soil, Sanchez Sanchez was transferred to the Public Ministry's Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, in Lima, where he underwent the corresponding legal medical examination.

"Thus, the protocols in accordance with law are strictly complied with," it was reported.

Sanchez Sanchez is accused of being part of a criminal organization led by ex-President Pedro Castillo, which allegedly infiltrated multiple State-run institutions to favor a company with construction contracts.
