The
President-elect, Keiko Fujimori, received a visit from the
United Kingdom's Ambassador to Peru, Su-Lin Garbett-Shiels, who delivered a letter of congratulations from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on the occasion of her election.
"In his message, he highlighted the historic relationship between the two countries and expressed his willingness to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation," the Office of the President-elect stated on social media.
Meanwhile, the UK Embassy said the meeting included talks on opportunities to continue strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Later, the president-elect joined Lima Mayor Renzo Reggiardo in overseeing clean-up and desilting work along the Rimac River.
There, she underscored the importance of strengthening prevention measures against the El Niño phenomenon to protect the population nationwide.
