stated on Wednesday that the government will continue making every effort to strengthen police response capacity in the fight against crime.
Remarks were made from Huaraz, where he delivered equipment to the Peruvian National Police (PNP).
"That is essential in this war we are waging against crime, so remain strong and let us continue working in the best possible way," he stated.
The top official said the tactical equipment delivered to the PNP will contribute to enhancing their capacity to confront crime and organized criminal groups.
The President indicated all of this is part of the efforts undertaken by the Transitional and National Reconciliation Government, in addition to the multiple actions carried out for the police's benefit.
"Let this be perfectly clear, and through you, convey it to the entire police family. We are with you, and we trust you," he expressed.
The donation of tactical equipment to the PNP consists of 69 rifles (11.5 caliber) with special sights; 100 bulletproof vests to be distributed among patrol and rapid response units; 14 flashlights; and 3 adapters.
Previously, the President told reporters that the purpose of his visit to Huaraz is to learn firsthand about the city's urgent issues and take action.
