The Fourth National Criminal Collegiate Court on Wednesday morning began
The former Head of State is being tried in the Lomas de Ilo–Moquegua Hospital case.
It involves the alleged payment of bribes to favor companies from the "Construction Club" in securing contracts for these projects in the southern region.
During the last hearing, in his closing arguments, the former top official denied having colluded on the Lomas de Ilo project with officials from the Obrainsa company in Lima on November 4 and 5, 2013.
The defendant stated that he was not in the capital on those dates but in Moquegua.
Regarding the Moquegua Hospital, Vizcarra stated that it was carried out through UNOPS.
He added that no one raised objections to the process, saying that it was conducted transparently.
