The
National Elections Board (JNE) on Wednesday presented
Keiko Fujimori with her credentials as President-elect of the Republic for the 2026-2031 term at a solemn ceremony held at the Grand National Theater in Lima's San Borja district.
During the ceremony, the other two members of her presidential ticket—which won the 2026 General Elections—were also presented with their credentials.
Luis Galarreta received credentials as First Vice President of the Republic and Miguel Torres as Second Vice President.
The ceremony began with the installation of the head table. It was led by National Elections Board (JNE) Chairman Roberto Burneo.
Likewise, it comprised the institution's full board members: Martha Maisch, Gunther Gonzales, Ruben Torres, and Aaron Oyarce.
The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, attended the event as well. He will leave office on July 28, 2026, and be succeeded by Fujimori.
The National Anthem was then performed, followed by the reading of the proclamation resolution.

This document serves as the legal basis for the presentation of credentials and officially recognizes the winning presidential ticket in the 2026 General Elections.
On July 3, the head of the electoral body proclaimed Keiko Fujimori Higuchi President-elect of the Republic for the 2026-2031 term.
The members of her presidential ticket were also proclaimed: Luis Galarreta Velarde as First Vice President and Miguel Torres Morales as Second Vice President.
The highlight of the credentials ceremony came when the members of the elected presidential ticket were called forward individually.
Afterwards, the JNE chairman formally presented each of them with the document certifying their respective offices.
