President-elect Keiko Fujimori on Wednesday said the country needs a Cabinet that knows how to make decisions and acts with technical rigor.
"Our Government will be made up of women and men with recognized technical expertise, experience, and a vocation for public service, regardless of their party affiliation, because the country needs a Cabinet that knows how to make decisions, acts with technical rigor, and understands that serving the State is one of the greatest honors a citizen can receive," she stated.
Within this framework, Fujimori said she will call not for uniformity, but for unity in diversity.
"This is a call to recognize that we all have a role to play and that a diversity of ideas, when properly channeled, can become our greatest strength. Thinking differently does not make us enemies," she noted.
National unity and reconciliation
Fujimori indicated that national reconciliation does not mean forgetting our differences, but rather learning to build on what unites us and understanding that no Government can move Peru forward if divisions and hatred continue to be fueled.
"I call on all democratic political forces, regional governments, local governments, the private sector, workers, entrepreneurs, academia, social organizations, and every citizen who wants to contribute to the country's development to come together with maturity and conviction," she expressed.
The president-elect said that throughout her public life, she has learned that engaging in politics requires strength, but also humility and, above all, the ability to learn from one's mistakes.
"I have learned from my mistakes and my successes, from difficult times and joyful moments. I have learned to ask for forgiveness, but above all, to forgive. That is why I deeply believe in reconciliation. Peru needs to look ahead and do so with serenity and confidence," she pointed out.
Each ministry will have specific goals
The president-elect said she will govern "by traveling across Peru, listening to its people, and ensuring that our commitments are fulfilled, because a Government is not measured by the number of announcements it makes, but by the solutions it delivers."
Fujimori announced that she will establish "a new way of managing the State."
"Each ministry will have specific goals, each government official will know the targets they must achieve, and every citizen will be able to assess our progress, because governing means being accountable," she said.
Lastly, Fujimori emphasized that the time has come to "speed up the decisions" the country has long been waiting for, with order, responsibility, efficiency, and human sensitivity.
