President-elect Keiko Fujimori held a phone conversation with Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who congratulated her on the role she will assume starting July 28.

Both highlighted the friendship between Peru and Israel, as well as their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

"I want to congratulate you on your victory in the elections. We were following them very closely, wishing for your success," Sa'ar expressed.

In turn, the president-elect said that taking the helm of the country is a great responsibility.

Likewise, Fujimori emphasized that Peru and Israel have much to exchange.

"Peru and Israel have a lot exchange; we have a lot to learn from each other. And, right now, Peru is having a great opportunity exporting fruits and vegetables," she noted.

"I can assure you that it is our wish to stand with you and to try, from our strengths—like water, agriculture, and cyber defense—to work with Peru," the Israeli minister stated.

Fujimori also proposed that, after taking office on July 28 and once her ministerial Cabinet has been formed, technical meetings could be arranged with them to address security and agriculture issues.

Finally, both expressed their best wishes for their respective countries.
