President Martin Vizcarra on Friday affirmed peace between Peru and Ecuador is solid and looks with optimism towards the future, thus enabling both countries to reach significant achievements.
"And now this peace will be joined by decisions that will strengthen our institutions and (help us) take concrete actions in the benefit of Peru and Ecuador," the Head of State expressed.
Likewise, the top official highlighted the good relations with Ecuador are the reflection of a peaceful coexistence between them thanks to the Brasilia Agreement, a peace treaty signed on October 26, 1998.
According to Vizcarra, the Binational Cabinet represents the perfect scenario for both nations to make joint decisions. In this sense, he stated the advances made in the past 11 meetings are noticeable.
The statesman went on to add it is necessary to establish a schedule in order to comply with the agreed measures, since there are tasks lacking deadlines.
It must be noted Binational Cabinets constitute a mechanism for political dialogue to be held between two nations with the purpose of working on specific issues of common interest included in the bilateral agenda.
During the gathering, Peruvian and Ecuadorian authorities addressed subjects concerning the social, cultural, economic, environmental, energy, mining, infrastructural, connectivity, and security spheres.
