The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti on Wednesday affirmed that his administration will work urgently, without improvisation, to ensure the implementation of adequate measures for the benefit of Peru.

During a press conference, the Head of State commented that he had encountered a very complex and difficult situation in the country —when he took office— due to the recent political crisis exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the top official, this had a very strong impact on public administration.

However, the statesman reaffirmed that the Government is focused on giving priority to sectors such as security, health, education, employment, economic recovery, as well as to
ensuring clean and transparent general elections on April 11, 2021.

Likewise, the Peruvian leader said his administration will be conducted with a sense of urgency, but without falling into any type of improvisation.

"Urgent things must be done calmly. Otherwise, we could make a big mistake. We will work urgently, without improvisation or doing things on the run," he assured reporters.

Moreover, the President asserted that he leads a government characterized by a vocation for service.

The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti led a press conference on Wednesday, thus marking his first month leading the Transitional and Emergency Government in Peru.

His term in office is expected to end on July 28, 2021.
