Peru: President holds meeting with Congress' political parties

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday held a meeting with the spokespeople of Congress' political parties to exchange ideas and seek consensus concerning the political reform submitted by the Executive Branch.

In this sense, the Head of State presented the proposals of the bills. 

According to the government, the political reform is necessary to promote governance and institutionalism, as well as to strengthen democracy in the Inca country.

On the occasion, he was joined by Prime Minister Salvador del Solar and Justice-Human Rights Minister Vicente Zeballos. 

On April 10, the Executive Branch presented 12 political reform bills to Congress. Four of them require a constitutional modification in order to be approved. 

Today's meeting took place at the Government Palace.
