Peru President holds meeting with Congress, Constitutional Court Heads

13:14 | Lima, Dec. 13.

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday held a meeting with Congress Chairman Daniel Salavarry and Constitutional Court Head Ernesto Blume in order to coordinate the quick implementation of the reforms approved in last Sunday's referendum.

Blume indicated that —during the 45-minute audience— they had addressed the National Justice Board Organic Law which must be passed by Parliament.

The official informed they had also talked about national reality in order to strengthen the constitutional state, democratic system, and institutions, as well as the need to make progress in the fight against corruption

Likewise, he underscored a full democracy exists in the Inca country.

For his part, the Head of State affirmed the reforms' implementation must be moved forward

On Wednesday night —during an address to the nation— the top official announced he would call for an audience with Congress Chairman, as well as Judicial Branch and Constitutional Court Heads with the purpose of implementing the political-justice reforms.

They were proposed by the Executive Branch and subsequently approved by Congress.

It should be noted Peruvians approved three of them, while they rejected the bicameral reform.
