Lima Group expresses concern over Russian military presence in Venezuela

Lima Group members on Tuesday expressed their concern over the arrival of two Russian military planes in Venezuela.

Within this framework, they condemned any kind of provocation or military deployment that might threaten peace and security in the region. 

In a statement, the group renewed its call to the nations that still maintain cooperation relations with Nicolas Maduro's illegitimate regime, so they can assist to find solutions that pave the way for the restoration of democracy and constitutional order in the Bolivarian nation. 

The Governments of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Saint Lucia signed the document.

Thus, Peru banned the entry of Maduro and 99 members of his regime —including their relatives— to its territory.
