During the meeting, both government officials underscored the high level of the bilateral relationship.
Similarly, they addressed the main issues on the bilateral agenda, including trade, investments, and development cooperation.
Invitation to APEC 2024 forum
Peru and Japan have been recognized as Strategic Partners since 2016.
Throughout this historic relationship, person-to-person and people-to-people ties have played a special role, based on the important Japanese migration to Peru, which this year celebrates its 125th anniversary.
Photo exhibition
As part of his visit to Tokyo,
Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Camino inaugurated the commemorative exhibition titled
"Remembrances," made up of photographs taken by Peruvian citizens residing in Japan, showing the diversity of their experiences throughout 35 years of Peruvian migration to the Asian country.
This exhibition is held at the "Machu Picchu" Auditorium of the Peruvian Embassy in Japan.
The dignitary highlighted the contribution of the Peruvian community in Japan —estimated at 50,000 people— in various sectors of the Japanese economy and as human bridges of our fraternal relationship with the host nation.
