Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea announced that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum Leaders' Summit, set to take place in Lima this November, will welcome 30% more attendees than previously expected.

In an interview with a local media outlet, he indicated that holding this forum represents "a reality and a possibility of further increasing the benefits of fostering investments and trade among APEC economies, with special emphasis on those which, valuing private enterprises and understanding among people, favor every Peruvian citizen."

The Foreign Affairs sector's head indicated that all invitations were sent out to APEC economies' leaders "including, in addition, some special guests."

It is important to note that, while exercising the APEC 2024 Presidency, Peru fosters an agenda that has a positive impact on our domestic policy, seeking to empower people, especially those in vulnerable situation, such as youth-women, SMEs, and informal entrepreneurship, among others.

According to the APEC Peru 2024 agenda, the Economic Leaders' Week will be held in Lima from November 10 to 16.

Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
